Responsible Gambling
Gambling should be entertainment, not a financial strategy. If it stops being fun, it’s time to stop.
SlotMatcher is an informational comparison tool — we do not operate gambling services or accept wagers. But because we discuss slot games and link to casinos where they can be played, we take our responsibility to promote safe gambling seriously.
Guidelines for safer play
Set a budget before you start. Decide how much you’re willing to spend per session and stick to it. Never chase losses by increasing your bet or extending your session beyond your budget.
Set a time limit. It’s easy to lose track of time while playing. Use a timer or the session limit tools most licensed casinos provide.
Treat gambling as entertainment. The cost of playing slots is the price of entertainment, like going to a cinema. If you’re playing to make money, you’re approaching it with the wrong expectation — the house always has a mathematical edge.
Don’t gamble when emotionally distressed. Avoid playing when stressed, upset, intoxicated, or in a vulnerable emotional state. Decisions made under emotional pressure are rarely good ones.
Understand how slots work. Every spin is independent. Past results do not influence future outcomes. There is no pattern, no “hot” or “cold” machine, no strategy that overcomes the house edge. RTP is a theoretical long-term average across millions of spins, not a prediction for your session. Our volatility guide explains what this means in practice.
Never borrow money to gamble. If you need to borrow money to continue playing, that is a clear signal to stop immediately.
Warning signs
Gambling may be becoming a problem if you: spend more time or money than intended; feel anxious, irritable, or restless when not gambling; hide gambling activity from family or friends; borrow money or sell possessions to fund gambling; neglect work, education, or relationships because of gambling; chase losses by increasing bets or playing longer; or feel unable to stop even when you want to.
