SlotMatcher is a free comparison tool that helps players find online slots similar to games they already enjoy. Instead of relying on editorial opinions or casino promotions, we use a transparent 7-axis scoring formula that evaluates every slot across core mechanics, bonus structure, volatility, max win, RTP, theme, and provider.
The result is a similarity percentage backed by verifiable data. Every score can be traced back to the formula. Every data point is sourced from provider documentation and verified against multiple independent databases.
How it works
We maintain a database of 50 verified slots (and growing). Each slot is tagged with normalised taxonomy data across 7 dimensions: core mechanics (paylines, cluster pays, megaways, etc.), bonus mechanics (sticky wilds, progressive multipliers, hold-and-win, etc.), modifier features (bonus buy, gamble feature), theme, volatility tier, and provider.
When you visit a slot’s page, our scoring engine calculates similarity against every other slot in the database using the Jaccard index for categorical axes and ordinal/numeric proximity for continuous variables. The top matches are displayed with a full breakdown showing exactly where two slots align and where they differ.
The formula weights are public: core mechanics 30%, bonus loop 20%, volatility 18%, max win 10%, RTP 10%, theme 7%, provider 5%. We explain the reasoning behind each weight on our methodology page.
What SlotMatcher is not
We are not a casino. We do not accept deposits, offer real-money play, or operate any gambling services. SlotMatcher is an informational comparison tool only.
We are not a tipster service. We do not predict outcomes, recommend betting strategies, or suggest that any slot is “due” to pay. Every spin is independent and governed by a random number generator. Our similarity scores describe mechanical and mathematical overlap between game designs — nothing more.
We may include links to licensed online casinos where featured slots are available. These are clearly marked affiliate links, and we receive a commission if you register through them. This relationship never influences our similarity scores, which are calculated algorithmically without editorial input.
Data quality
Every slot in our database goes through a multi-source verification process. We cross-reference provider spec sheets against independent review databases including SlotCatalog, Casino.guru, BigWinBoard, and Clash of Slots. Discrepancies are flagged and resolved manually before any slot enters the scoring system.
Our synonym dictionary normalises provider-specific terminology (Pragmatic’s “Tumble” = NetEnt’s “Avalanche” = BTG’s “Reactions”) to ensure consistent matching across studios. The dictionary is maintained alongside the slot database and updated with every new entry.
